Two-Minute Brownie-In-A-Mug

Allow me to paint you a picture: it’s Saturday night, 10pm. I want something sweet, but it’s cold so I don’t want to leave the house to go get anything. It’s too late to really start baking anything; plus that means cleaning the kitchen. Short of hot chocolate, I’m out of options. Defeated, I turn to my iPad to start browsing Facebook in order to distract myself from the lack of delicious sweet goodness in the house. What do I find on my cousin Lauren’s Facebook page but instructions for making a brownie, in a mug, in the microwave, in 1 minute and 40 seconds. Of course, I jump all over that. My boyfriend was very skeptical about it, but I was determined, and boy did it turn out well. I know what I’m going to be eating all week!

Two-Minute Brownie-In-A-Mug
Prep time: 1 minutes
Cook time: 1 minute 40 seconds
Serves 1

1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp canola or vegetable oil
3 tbsp water

1 average-sized mug
Whipped cream or ice cream… Or both!

Combine all ingredients in a mug, stir until smooth. Microwave on high power for 1 minute, 40 seconds. Top with ice cream or whipped cream, and chow down!

My dear cousin can chip in with where she found this gem!
