I don’t spend much time on Pinterest, but this morning I was looking for something to make for dinner and happened to be scrolling through when I found this gem. This is a perfect recipe for me because the ingredients are things I always have lying around, it’s super easy, and incredibly delicious for being so simple. I will post the picture I took of the dish I made, but you should really check out the pictures on the website where I originally found the recipe, she took some amazing pictures! Lighter Sesame Chicken
Prep time 5-10 minutes
Cook time 20-25 minutes
1/4 cup honey
2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 egg white
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
4 chicken breasts , cut into bite-sized pieces
salt & pepper
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
2 green onions, chopped
2 cups broccoli florets
Combine honey, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and garlic in a small dish, set aside.
Whisk together egg white and cornstarch. Season chicken with salt and pepper, and toss with cornstarch mixture to coat.
Heat oil in frying pan over medium heat. Add chicken and cook through. The cornstarch will make it nice and crispy on the outside and should get quite brown.
Meanwhile, steam broccoli florets until soft.
When chicken is cooked, transfer to large bowl and add steamed broccoli and sesame sauce mixture; toss to coat.
Serve over rice, garnish with green onions and any extra sauce at the bottom of the bowl, and prepare to share the recipe!
